Macro Cells

There are singular functional blocks which occupy a larger layout area than a basic cell. For the design convenience they are also implemented in a cell form. These cells are called macro cells. For those macro cells that is in a complete layout block they are called hard macros. Other wise they are called soft macros. Following is a list of existing macro cells. New cells may be generated in the course of a design.

Macro cells (Digital)

Crystal OSCs (Up to 70MHz), High Speed Prescaler (over 200mhz), Non-Glitch Clock Switcher, 50 percent Duty Cycle Clock Re-Forming, Polarity Detection, On-Chip Power Up Reset, On-Chip R/C Oscillator, Voltage Doubler, etc.

Macro cells (Analog)

R-String DAC, Video DAC, Voltage Regulator, Band-Gap Voltage Reference, Analog MUX, A/D and D/A Converters, V/I Converter, VCO (Up to 150mhz), Phase Comparator, Sawtooth Clock Generator, PWM Encoder, Over Temperature Sensing, Filters, etc.
